Client: Not disclosed

Project name: Waterproofing Works

Services: Damp mould and disrepair

The client

Our client is one of the largest councils and social housing landlords in the UK.

The project

Our team won a competitive tender to deliver waterproofing works using a Delta Membrane system at a Grade II listed building, recognised for its special architectural and historic interest where many of the properties suffer from rising damp and mould issues.

Our solution

The work we delivered included stripping the property back the concrete slab and brick walls to the entire ground floor and installing a Delta Membrane system. Once this was installed, we used a thermal-backed plasterboard to improve the thermal quality of all walls and to prevent any cold bridging. We then reinstated all services, floors, kitchen, radiators, and doors and decorated the property.

The results and outcomes

Following the work delivered the property is now noticeably warmer – even under a thermal imaging camera you can see all cold spots have been dramatically reduced. There is also minimal condensation now on all windows which has been achieved even though the windows are only single glazed. The client now has a long-term property that is rentable and back to its former glory with tenants now moving in.
