What is Leon’s role?
Leon Haylock is our Managing Director and has more than 15 years of experience in the construction sector including both on-site experience and office-based work. He has held managing director and commercial director roles for multi-trade building contractors delivering full turnkey packages to commercial and domestic clients across the public and private sectors.
Leon started his career as a decorator progressing into high-end residential work which gave him valuable experience in delivering work under pressure and to a great standard. He later progressed into commercial work, scaling multiple successful businesses from the ground-up.
He has a superb eye for detail and great communication skills with Penshurst Construction’s direct labour, office staff, and their clients – who are at the heart of the success of the business.
In his role as Managing Director he’s regularly on-site surveying, managing stakeholders and overseeing the general day-to-day running of a busy office and business.
How does Leon spend his free time?
Outside of work, Leon is usually running around after his four children or keeping fit playing squash or cricket for Havant CC in Hampshire where he captains the current 3rd Team and coaches the U9 team. He is also very fond of the outdoors, growing his own vegetables, cooking great wholesome food, and keeping chickens!
